Management
Alex Shead - CEO
Alex is the founder and CEO of Fair Business and has more than 25 years of experience in entrepreneurial business management both in the UK and Australia. Alex was the co-founder and CEO of Stuart Alexander which became one of the UK’s largest insurance intermediaries and was ultimately sold to AXA UK. Having completed over 25 successful business purchases and keen to make a positive difference to people’s lives, Alex saw an opportunity to apply his business skills to create social change.
Marc Manion - Manager, Partnerships and Business Development
Marc is an integral link for all the businesses, supporting their commercial growth and identifying new business development opportunities. Marc previously worked with Social Ventures Australia, supporting social enterprises to improve their commercial performance. Prior to this, Marc owned and operated a significant portfolio of hotels and restaurants and was involved in the operational management group “HANDS ON” providing specialised advice in business turnarounds.
Piers Ramsay - Manager, Finance and Operations
Piers has recently joined the Fair Business Team. In the last 10 years he has been in executive roles in significant SMEs (such as Resi Mortgage and CCLI) and prior to that a long history in the Banking and Finance industry. He brings strong General Management, Finance, and commercial skills, along with a passion for what Fair Business is all about. Piers' role focuses on building strong healthy teams and well managed social enterprises, enabling more lives to be turned around.

James Mollison - Non Executive Director
James is the founder and Managing Director of FirstUnity Financial Group. FirstUnity is a boutique financial advisory and wealth management group with a core focus on the provision of wealth management services and solutions to affluent individuals and families. The Philanthropic Services division of FirstUnity specifically focuses on servicing the financial and investment requirements of the non profit sector.
Darren Milne - Non Executive Director
Darren is the Managing Director of Milne Alexander, a niche general insurance brokerage with specific expertise in the food processing and manufacturing sectors. Milne Alexander is one of Australia’s leading insurance advice businesses and is the market leader for insurance solutions in the tuna fishing industry. Darren sits on one of the advisory boards for Steadfast Group, the largest cluster group of insurance brokers in Australia.
Social Enterprise Management
Mark Bonnell - General Manager, Fair Repairs
Mark is the General Manager of Fair Repairs adding to his long history of service to the Campbelltown community. Mark has previously operated a mentoring and coaching business that focused on helping youth at risk and coaching small business owners from socially disadvantaged backgrounds. He has also been involved in real estate development and is a licensed Buyers Agent and Mortgage Broker. Mark's passion in life is to guide and mentor individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds so that they can be all they possibly can and he brings this motivation to his work at Fair Repairs.
Matt Hampton - Manager (Food), Social Roasting Company
Matt has been working in the hospitality industry as a Chef for the last 14 years. His training started at the Hotel Intercontinental in Wellington, New Zealand in the acclaimed Chameleon restaurant. He then made his way around the world gaining experience in a multitude of different venues under talented chefs, the likes of Peter Gordon in London and Melbourne's own Mike Bird. He has now taken up the role of Manager-Food and Executive Chef at the less formal but equally challenging Social Roasting Company.
Alex Forsyth - Manager (Coffee), Social Roasting Company
Alex recently joined the team as the Coffee Manager at the Social Roasting Company. Alex oversees all things coffee related, including the sourcing of beans, the roasting and blending, business development, barista training and front of shop. Alex has over 10 years of coffee roasting and blending experience and was the 2006 Sydney Barista Champion, the 2007 Queensland Barista Runner-up and has judged the World Latte Art and Coffee in Good Spirits Competitions in Koelne and London. Alex holds a SCAE Barista trainer certificate (levels 1 and 2).
